Hi Mukul,

No, we can not. But if you have SSAS Tabular database with 1100 and 1103, you can restore it in your SSAS 2012 or 2014, then you can create a SSAS tabular project with 1100 or 1103 compatibility based on that restored SSAS database.Best Regards

Thanks willson for the reply,
I have a situation where we have a cube running on SSAS tabular 1200 compatibility(dev environment)
and production is running with SSAS 2014 1103 compatibility and we want to migrate it to prod now.
so we are left with 2 options
1. upgrade prod to 1200
2. develop cube from scratch on 1103 server
Please suggest

Hi Mukul,
Thanks for your response.

I agree with you, there are only 2 options left. In your scenario, I would suggest you to upgrade prod to 1200, as you have a cube running on SSAS tabular 1200 compatibility(dev environment), and you can benefit from many of the new features of Analysis Services in SQL Server 2016. These features include bi-directional filtering, calculated tables, native translations and display folders, better and less glitchy IDE, the new TMSL json-based scripting language, the TOM (Tabular Object Model) and more.
