LaunchFileAsync Does Not launch an Application to load a CSV File

    Question

  • I am experiencing the same issue as described here http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/winappswithhtml5/thread/e75207e4-fba5-4b61-bc93-d373a27699fa.

Attempting to launch a .csv file using launchFileAsync() fails without further information.  I have a project I can share that reproduces the issue.  Any assistance would be appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Bryan

  • Hi Bryan,

This probably is about the context from which you call launchFileAsync, unrelated to the file type being launched. Where in your code are you calling it? Does it work if you call it in response to user input?

If you can share your (minimal ;) ) project on your SkyDrive and provide exact repro steps then we can look at it specifically.

  • Sorry it took me so long to respond.  I've uploaded a sample project to Skydrive here http://sdrv.ms/12PtJzU

In the project is a qunit test page with what should be 2 passing fs io tests.  At the bottom are a number of write and launch buttons.  Originally the "launch csv" button would fail while the "launch txt" button would succeed, but now both are failing for me.  Any help is appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Bryan
