Whitepaper on WTV file format? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Windows 7 has been launched and now the "WTV" format is more wide-spread then when the TV Pack was introduced.  I am curious as to the ETA on the WTV Whitepaper.

There is a lot undocumented about this container such as how subtitles are contained within it (DVB-Based or Closed Captioning).

Any word as to when this whitepaper that documents this container properly will be released?

  • The WTV file format is handled by media center, and we do not parse or handle it.  The media center team does not even work for Windows, so we are not even really in on their plans.  You might have better luck on the media center forums: http://thegreenbutton.com/forums/.

  • Sadly I can't get "The Media Center Team" to respond to my inquiry as to this format.  Is there anyone else I can get in touch with?

  • I, too, have this question and have had questions ignored on thegreenbutton forums.  Surely the developers of Media Center have an address to send notifications of bugs.
