Why is debugging app so slow after XCode (and other?) update today? How can I resolve this? RRS feed

The Mac Mini that I use as the build server (for building Xamarin.Forms apps remotely from Visual Studio) did an update earlier. I wasn't paying attention as I had so many other things to do, but I know it updated XCode to what it described as the latest compatible version (with what, I don't know). Since that update, when I try debugging my app from Visual Studio, the startup is so slow that it goes over the time limit and iOS kills the app.

Has anybody else encountered this? If so, how did you solve it?

Apologies for the Mac newbie question, but how do I find out what was updated, and how can I do downgrades? (I've worked on all sorts of platform, but not Mac - it's still a touch alien to me).

    Many thanks,

    John H.

I've recently started to use Xamarin and I am seeing the same behaviour, or worse since it often happens that even when just running the app it's so slow that it gets killed. Very annoying.
