XSLT caching and persistance? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

are there any mechanisms that prevent changes in blog.xsl or fldtypes_Ratings.xsl from being applied to an existing site/list by simply editing these files and maybe doing iisreset? Do I have to flush a cache or edit some hidden mapping that says "use the cached version of fldtypes_X.xsl, not the one in the file"?

  • as far as I know, this is not possible.

but changing these files is not really best practices anyway.

Make a copy of them and reference them wherever you need a customized renderings.

  • I'm currently prototyping so this approach is acceptable. The issue here is that changes are not always applied after I edit the XSL and iisreset the server, so even if I had my own file it would be the same thing.
