Testing out PlayTo features on a single machine?

    Question

  • I have a desktop running Windows 8, and am working on an app with audio PlayTo features. It would be great if I could test PlayTo sending and receiving from the same machine. Is there any way to do that?

  • I believe PlayTo works between machines on the local network. I think the only way you might do it on one machine is to have a VM running with a different network identity; haven't tried it though.

If you're trying to debug a PlayTo receiver in software, then you could use the remote debugger in Visual Studio to debug the app on the second machine on the network.
