RPC over Http feature without AllowAnonymous RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi All,

We use 'RPC over Http' feature within our client/server application (protocol - ncacn_http).

    Our Setup:
Operating System: Windows Server 2012 R2; IIS and 'RPC Over Http' installed on this machine.
Client & Server application resides on this same machine.

For testing purposes, configured registry entry 'AllowAnonymous=1' (HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Rpc\RpcProxy\AllowAnonymous) - client/server application worked as expected. To deploy application in production, we have removed registry entry 'AllowAnonymous' as recommended and then getting following error: “The error returned was: [0x5] 'Access for making the remote procedure call was denied.’”

Could you please guide us to resolve this situation. Many thanks in advance.
