i.MX23 EVK Keypad Driver Registry Settings on Windows Embedded CE 6.0 [Kiosk Mode] RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi all,

    I've developed a specific application instead of explorer.exe so that i.MX23 CE device can work on kiosk mode. The registry entries of the keypad driver includes an app setting to explorer.exe as following.

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Drivers\BuiltIn\KeyPadS\Key2]
    "KeyName"="HotKey0"
    "AppName"="explorer.exe"
    "Parameter"=""
    "Voltage"=dword:00000550
    "Flag"=dword:00000001
    "VirtualKey"=dword:0000ffff

    Should I change this entry for new shell application? And should I write specific code for the communciation between keypad driver and new shell application?

    Thanks in advance for your clarifications.

    Best regards,

    Yasemin

  • I imagine that those entries associate a specific key to launch an application (explorer.exe) so you may modify it to run something else

  • You could search the code for your keypad driver and find out what it does with this subkey and values.  Then based on what it does, you can make decisions for your specific device implementation.  Don't be surprised if it doesn't acutally have Key2 in the code, I suspect that it enumerates all Key* subkeys.
