has 0x80080014 changed to 0x83010014 aka E_NUI_NOTCONNECTED? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Has the error code 0x80080014 changed? The Beta 2 SDK (and Beta 1) documentation tells me that it is the code for when no Kinect sensor is connected to the PC.

However in SDK beta 2, that is not what I experience. When I don't have a Kinect connected and call NuiInitialize(), I get error code 0x83010014.

FYI, 0x83010014 is defined in MSR_NuiApi.h as E_NUI_NOTCONNECTED.

I suspect a doc bug? Or perhaps this is a new error and the original 0x80080014 could still occur?

  • Hey Dale,

Could you link me the Beta 2 SDK documentation you use?  I cannot find it.

On your question, could you use the #define's in the MSR_NuiApi.h if you're doing error checking, then when their documentation or their code is fixed you would still be checking for it to not be connected.

  • It coes with your install. Its wherever you installed the SDK on your hard drive.

And I do use the #defines where they are correct and defined. In the case I describe both are in error.
