Change SQL Login (username and password) in a workbook containing a PowerPivot dataconnect RRS feed

  • Question

  • I imported several data tables from a SQL Azure database using the PowerPivot table import wizard, with a SQL Server login.  So far so good.  Now, I need to change the username and password for this workbook, as those credentials have expired.  I don't want to recreate the table import process, just refresh the data with new credentials.

How do I go about this?

    Thanks,

  • Hi

    - Open the PowerPivot window

    - when working with Vista or Windows 7 click the button 'Existing Connections' which is located on tab 'Design'

    - when working with Windows XP under menu item 'Table'  next click item (Existing) Connections

    - a new window with a list of existing data connections will open

    - select the items which you want to edit / update the credentials

    - close the window and press the 'Refresh All' button in the ribbon this should update all your tables (except the linked tables)
