  • Can someone please tell me which web server is used by SSRS by default? I need to change my hostname for SSRS web portal.

  • Thanks Visakh! But I needed to know the default web server on which SSRS is hosted, not the default portals and all. Anyway, I found out that SSRS is hosted using http.sys which is not a web server in itself but a component embedded in the software only.

  • You can check the default URl from Reporting Services configuration manager by going to the report manager and webservice url tabs

  • SSRS by default use ISS web server.
And you can update the host name in SSRS confirm page OR on SSRS configuration manager.

  • Sorry Shoeb, but it does not use IIS web server, at least not since SQL Server 2008 is what I read. It uses http.sys, embedded in its own software.

And I tried adding a host header name for http in the configuration manager, but when I use that URL nothing works. And for HTTPS, there is no option to add host-header.

Can you please help if you have an idea about this?

    Thanks a lot.
