Unable to extract and upload PackageInfo.xml. RRS feed

  • Question

  • I am attempting to upload a signed CAB file to the partner center driver page for attribution signing (https://partner.microsoft.com/en-us/dashboard/hardware/driver/New), and am getting an error:
Unable to extract and upload PackageInfo.xml.
        Correlation ID: 988bc20c-ee2e-4306-8c80-0cacac5b9cac
        Correlation vector: GUMnuSzRQ0uMwaqX.1.11

However, these CAB files do not contain a PackageInfo.xml - nor have they *ever* contained a PackageInfo.xml (we have been signing with the partner center for years).  Our network software driver isn't even associated with a PackageInfo.xml, nor is one created during our build process.

For example, the driver I submitted at https://partner.microsoft.com/en-us/dashboard/hardware/driver/13971875243157602 (submitted on 10/30/2019) was correctly processed and signed, but the original CAB file does not contain a PackageInfo.xml file.

The instructions for attestation signing at https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-hardware/drivers/dashboard/attestation-signing-a-kernel-driver-for-public-release do not mention PackageInfo.xml as a contents of the CAB file.
