link error of kinect sdk RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi guys

    Let me claim something firstly.

My OS is win7 64 bits

IDE is : VS 2010 professional

kinect sdk is : 64bits version

When I build project in platform of Active(x64), it always gives error: unresolved external symbol  __imp_NuiImageStreamReleaseFrame

When I build project in platform of Win32, it's OK, no problem.

Why does this happen? Can anyone explain?

    Thanks in advanced.

  • Hi Zhong,

I think there is a problem about calling Kinect sdk as "64 bits version".

64 bits means 64-bits installer for W7, 64-bits low level drivers/DLLs but the kinect sdk (1.0.0.11 or 12) install an unique import library and this is a 32-bits library (MSRKinectNUI.lib) as the corresponding DLL libraries (MSRKinectNUI.dll, KinectSQM.dll, WinUSB.dll ...). So, I don't think you can compile to a 64-bits target using directly a 32-bits library.

    Best regards,

  • That is correct, you can't compile a 64-bit target binary from Kinect SDK Beta. Only 32-bit compiled binaries are supported at the moment.

    Sorry for the trouble.

  • Hi Eddy,

I'm building an application where I would really benefit from 64 bit library support.

Would you happen to have a timeline for when 64 bit Kinect library would be available? In a couple of weeks by any chance?

    Thanks,

    Peter
