Consume AXIS web service in VS 2010 with login RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

The external client has designed a login page to the axis web service. So basically, to view the wsdl, I need to provide the login credentials. How would I provide these credentials to the when trying to add web references into a vs 2010 BizTalk project?

I have used 'Consume WCF service' in the past, but not with login credentials. When I provide the wsdl url, the login screen is displayed before the wizard throws an error.

Not sure how to get around this problem.

    Thanks,

    Raj

  • You can't.  But...

You can save/download the WSDL and use that as input to the Wizard.

Choose Metadata Files, then browse to the saved WSDL.

  • Thanks,

So, from BizTalk I use a WCF Custom port (with http binding) to communicate with the axis service. But this too fails, and I guess the issue is the log in page. although I have provided the authentication details. I have requested the client to remove the log-in page and apply server side authentication from within the apache server.

  • A logon page for WSDL can be handled.

A logon page on the actual service would not work with any type of client, BizTalk, Java or anything else*.

*Of course, you could write a custom authentication module.
