Important Reminder: W-9's for Company Accounts in US RRS feed

  • General discussion

  • For Company accounts registered in the US, an EIN must be provided as your TIN in the W-9 form. The W-9 form will not accept SSNs as a TIN for Company-type accounts. If you registered as a Company but only have a SSN as a TIN, please contact support for assistance in getting set-up with an Individual-type account.

If you haven’t done so already, please take some time review our payout setup and requirements here: http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/windowsphone/help/jj206722(v=vs.105).aspx.

  • Hi Danny, could you please clarify issue with 1099 forms? When you planned to send these forms to individual developers in US? Today is February, 17-th, forms should be sent before February 15-th.

  • Hi @SeNS,

I can confirm that Form 1099s went out on Jan 31st 2013, so you should receive them in February. Please note that only US-based developers that made over $600 for 2012 will receive a Form 1099. If you did not make over $600 for the year, please consult with a tax professional or contact the IRS (http://www.irs.gov/) for guidance.

If you made more than $600 and you have not received your $1099 by the end of Feb 2013, please submit a support request at: https://dev.windowsphone.com/support
