Driver signing fails due to warnings in inf file RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello everyone!

We are having some problems with driver signing submissions. The submission fails with the following message:

"Unfortunately, we found that some INF files in your package are not valid for signing. You can download the tool we use for testing and learn more about how to use it on MSDN."

We tested our inf with infverif.exe, it does display some warnings (warning 2083) about some sections, namely, taht they are not used or referenced. The problem is we use those for installation with setupapi.

Did anyone have the same problem? What possible solutions might there be?

  • Hi,

I'm assuming you are referring to Sysdev/devcenter when you say submission, if so, you need to download the HCK2.1 (for Windows 8.1 and downleve) or the HLK (For Windows 10 +) and run all of the tests against your driver and then you would need to upload your signed submission package to the dashboard.

Here are some additional info on the HLK and the HCK2.1 as well as the process of signing.

If you are inquiring about just signing your driver yes the INF would need to be a valid INF(no errors) in order to submit

    Thanks

    Thanks!
