Manipulating spatial data through some language. RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello people, I'm new to SQL Server 2016, be patient, anyway, I was reading the documentation, specifically on spatial data, and I did not find an API that would allow me to manipulate spatial data directly in any programming language, is there any API that can do this in SQL Server 2016?

  • Hi luminier,

SQL Server supports two spatial data types: the geometry data type and the geography data type. Both data types are implemented as .NET common language runtime (CLR).

You can use a CLR Stored Procedures to call it. For more information, please refer to this document: https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms131094.aspx

    Best Regards,
