Media Source Extensions (MSE) sourcebuffer delay RRS feed

  • Question

  • It seems that the media source extensions (mse) sourcebuffer always need about 3s worth of data before it can play anything and I need it to play as soon as possible as I'm sending a realtime stream. Can I modify this behaviour? Chrome 35+ behaves differently and can play after appending a single frame.

  • Hi Marcus,

The factor of HTML5 video play speed is your internet access speed, the video player will play video as soon as possible if it caches certain amount of frames. I cannot find any APIs about how to change the amount of frames. Short word: you cannot.

    Helpful reference: MSE API, http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ie/dn594470(v=vs.85).aspx.
