Excel - Setting Page Properties not possible with new Windows 10 setting enabled RRS feed

  • General discussion

  • Hello dear Community

A rather special bug(?) came up to me when using Windows 10.

While the System Configuration -> Devices -> Printers and scanners -> automatically choose standard printer
    (freely translated from german)

         Picture of this setting:
         https://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/getfile/1545163

option is activated I am not able to set Page Properties. I just want to set them for a later executed ExportAsFixedFormat.

I Think it is related to this old "problem". Link:
    https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/291298/you-cannot-use-page-setup-properties-in-excel-if-no-printers-were-inst

I suspect this new function does not set the standard printer properly.

After deactivating this and setting one fixed standard printer everything worked as it has done on Windows 7.

Anyone else experiencing this? Is it a Bug? How to report it if it is one?

Thank you anyway and have a nice day!

Into VBA, Batch and a bit of Powershell! The possibilities are endless...
