Can we get the Win8 Dev Prev disk from Microsoft?

I just do not have a fast enough download connect even with a DSL connection. If I got to ebay I can get both for 20USD but I was wondering if Miocrosoft had a disk I could buy that may be cheaper. Is there a site for this?

No, the only legitimate way to get the DP is to download it.

As Paul said, it's download only. Try using a download manager instead. They can be more reliable with large files, and most allow pausing and resuming if you have a slow connection.

According to the EULA you can't sell/transfer the Windows 8 Developer Preview to someone else.

You can find the EULA at C:\Windows\System32\license.rtf.

I got all that and tried a 'download manager'. My net is sketchy and my provider does not appriciate such a large download. I have a "Bucket Net" When the Bucket is full my download speed slows down to 40 to 33kb per. I live in the boonies and this provider is my only choice. I was simply looking for a service that would make the disk for me. I can not download the disk. I have done it with a download manager a two day process and the download was botched four times half way through. One week of work or lack there of since my business is over the net. I finally got the download from a supposedly guarteed "Downlod Manager" program and the disk gets 52% loaded and 'errors out' on me. I lost a week of business trying to do this. Just can't do it again. I do remember with Windows 7 Beta I could get the beta disk back then from Microsoft. I thought this might be true here. Thanks for your help.

If you know someone with a fast internet connection you could ask if they would be willing to download it for you.

I would not buy the Windows 8 Developer Preview on eBay - you never know if it's been modified.

If you are running Internet Explorer 9, it alsready comes with download manager you could use that to do download while it being download, you could also do your other jobs, it would take for a while if internet is slow.

My net provider has an interesting pinishment for large downloads. I get to NOT have internet for a week after during the day but have it at night if I do a large download. I am in a rural part of the US where this is the only way I can get the net. The satelite companies want an extreme amount of money. But I will try you method in incraments and maybe I can get away with it.

The guy from ebay, I have worked with before. I have bought Linux Mint downloads and game MODs from him, that are too heavy "Net-wize" to download, like STALKER MegaMOD Narodnaya Soljanka and STALKER Complete 2012. I pretty much trust his work.

If I do this IE9 download manager will it hold my place and will the program be intact and uncorrupted?

Using Internet Explorer download manager you could pause whenever want to disconnect from internet and even turn off your PC and later on you could open Download manager and resume your download. it will be uncorrupted since IE has some method to check that.

Buy from e-Bay or getting CD is NOT recommended and best way is to get it from Microsoft as download.

I got a download manager that wasn't buggy. So will try again. The only thing I am worried about is I have that guy who is selling downloads of Win 8 linked to my threads. How do I get Technet to take his link off before someone gets hurt or worse may get ripped off. You just never know. Who do I talk to? Thanks guys all of you.

It is public forum and everyone would want to know answer and with same problem be able to resolve it. In your case , you should make sure that your username is not same as ebay one to preserve your privacy.

I got the download, well oddly on 2 downloaded versions from my computer and my brother downloaded it. I had the ISO and license and loaded Win8 to 12% then got the error again, so on a whim I put in my brother's botched download and he got the rest of it downloaded. So with two disks we have Win 8 now.

Now a new question. Where do we go to leave feedback on Win8 Dev Prev? Thanks again.
