Any doc about the REST parameters of the Send Invitation Collection methods in the API v4.1 ? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Not being used to the MSDN I have a hard time finding docs about what I need. if anyone has some pointers I'd be happy.

From some C# examples (http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/gg430657.aspx) I gather I need some contact ID. How do I get those ? Is it even possible with the REST API only (no javascript SDK) ? The Id I get from Allcontacts are like that "urn:uuid:UPXVW3YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA" which is not a 16-character hexadecimal string.

Even with this out of the way, how do I send those parameters to the endpoint ? From the example I think it's a simple GET request with parameters like ?Invitations[0][To]=contactId&Invitations[0][From]=noreply@example.com etc. but I'm not sure about that, specially when getting this kind of response: "Specified method is not allowed."

  • Well, finally found the doc. http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/gg430655.aspx .

So that's POST, not get. And you have to send the json as the direct POST body. I still don't know where to find the CID needed tho.

Edit: found it. The user and its contact must be friend then you get more fields from the allcontacts call.
