how to get disc driver pass HCK testing on window 8.1 preview RRS feed

  • Question

  • Our product will add a driver for ODDs(optical disc drive), and now we want to get logo certification for our driver with HCK on windows 8.1 preview.
Following is what we have done:

    1. Install the HCK Studio and Controller on Windows Server 2008 R2, then install the ODD, our driver and HCK Client on windows 8.1 preview.

    2. We select the ODD in device manager in Selection.
(at first,we thought we may find our driver in the software device cause it has many *.sys, but we did not find it.  By searching the driver name, we got only the ODD,so we had to choos it as the test target. Is this correct?)

3.Then we started running the test, but it failed in many cases of Optical Logo Test, for CD-R, CD-RW, DVD-R. etc.

    Our questions are:
    1. Is our method that verifying the whole ODD for driver test correct?
    2. If it's correct, why are there so many errors? are they caused by the ODD unstability or our driver? How can we make them pass?
    3. If it's not correct, what it the right way to get the filter driver verified by HCK?

Thanks very much if anyone can provie some suggestions.
