Unable to start debugging on remote machine

    Question

  • Development Machine: Windows 8 RTM x64 and Visual Studio 2012 Update 1

    Testing Machine: ARM tablet - Windows RT build 9200 -  has remote debugging tools installed Update 1

    App: C# + XAML + Some native WinMD components

    Debugger Type: Managed Only

    I can debug locally and in simulator but for some reason when I try to debug remote on the ARM tablet, the application gets deployed, it even starts on remote tablet, the splash screen of the app comes up and immediately I get error in visual studio:

    ============

    Unable to start debugging

    'C:\Users\username\AppxLayouts\AppName.Debug_ARM.username\AppName.exe'

    The system cannot find the file specified

    =========

    Its strange as the reported path is correct and the exe is there. And it did start the splash screen but then the error.

    Just curious, when I double clicked the reported exe on the ARM tablet, it says

    "Windows cannot verify the digital signature for this file... signed incorrectly or damaged..."

    When I try to start the app from the start screen on ARM tablet, it starts fine and there are no issues.
