VS2005 - Project not supported RRS feed

  • Question

  • I've been developing on an XP box with VS2005 Team Suite 2.0.50727 SP2.  I want to do mods outside of VSS on my other box which is running Windows 7 (64bit).   I copied the whole solution over to the Win7 box and tried to open the solution in freshly installed VS2005 Professional Edition 2.0.50727 SP2.

I've deleted the VSS files before trying to load the project too.

I get a "The project file '......vbproj' cannot be opened.  The project type is not supported by this installation."

Any idea why I can't load these VS2005 projects on my 64bit Win7 VS2005 IDE?

    TIA

    Harry

  • After further digging - there is no VS2005 SP2.  The SP2 was the Framework SP.

I installed SP1 to VS2005 and then the SP1 for VISTA and everything is working great.
