Web services in SOAP, JSON-RPC or XML-RPC RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi all,

Is it possible to expose the web methods in my web services to be available thourgh SOAP, JSON-RPC, XML-RPC? If the proxy is generating the call to the web service, then should it not be possible to create different proxies to call the same web method is using of the three protocols? From what I read there does not seem to be a way to do it. The only way seems to be to create the wen service seperately to be exposed in all the callable format.

    Any ideas or suggestions???

    Thank You,
    Vish

  • Each of the methods you note above follow RPC based semantics.  Astoria follows resource centric / REST semantics and thus does not provide JSON-RPC, etc.  You might try this question on a WCF centric forum as such services can have well defined RPC semantics that seem to map closer to what you are asking above.
