Excel 2013 -- use a "tool tip" to display information from another cell when the cursor is over a given cell RRS feed

  • Question

  • In SSRS reports I can display Tool Tips when a user moves their cursor over a report object (e.g., a cell or a wedge of a pie chart or a bar of a bar chart).  There are fields in dialog boxes that let you define the tooltip and tooltips can include dataset info.

I have an excel workbook that has information in a given cell and additional related information in a cell that's offset 10 columns away.  I'd like to display the related information as a Tool Tip when I hover over the given cell.  Is that possible in excel?

The closest thing I see to a Tool Tip in excel is where there's a comment associated with a cell.

    Thanks
