MSMQ on WinCe 5.0 stops working when using propriety protocol RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi all,

I have a working MSMQ install running on WinCE 5.0 (Mini2440). Then I power cycle the device and on reboot the queue log contains

    [11:57:00 4/19/2011] MSMQ service started.
[11:57:01 4/19/2011] Session manager initialization failure. Check network initialization.

P.S. I have called RegFlush to ensure that the QueueManagerGUID and any other settings have been written to disk.

Edit: It only fails if MSMQ is set to use binary mode - via the "Enable Binary" command.

Completely reproducible. Any thoughts where to start?

    Many thanks

  • Hi Mark,

I think your issue should be raised in the Windows Embedded Compact Platform Development. I believe they will know more information of this issue than us, and I will move this one to that forum.

    Thanks for your understanding,

  • Start a support incident with MS (information should be with your Platform Builder installation disks), is probably what you'll end up with.

You might also *try* setting the MasterKeysInRegistry value in your default registry (check the help).  I don't see what MSMQ would be doing that might require that, but perhaps some element of "identity" is stored in one of the protected stores and it's not getting persisted.
