Is it possible to build Windows CE 6.0 Smart device applications using Visual Studio 2013?

Question

Is it possible to build Windows CE 6.0 Smart device applications using Visual Studio 2013?

My developer has VS2013 and trying to execute the SDK created for the device and getting the following error.

Aside from the obvious part of the message that states that VS2005 needs to be installed, does that really mean you cannot use VS2013 to generate WindowsCE 6.0 Smart Device applications on VS2013. Or is this just some kind of SDK incompatibility issue

Could I not just create managed code applications that would run on Windows CE 6.0 using VS2013?

So can I at all compile applications that run on a device running Windows CE 6.0 using VS2013, or must I have use VS2005 or VS2008?

For WinCE 6 you have to use VS2005 and VS2008 for App development
