Email a read-only browser based infopath form RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi Everyone,

I have searched and found many posts on this topic but I am still not sure how to address this issue so here it is:

    1. I have a web-based info path form on a server.
    2. Once a user is done filling it out, I want a workflow to email a second person with either a read_only version of the form attached OR email the other user a PDF version of the form.

I have tried configuring the Submit function which will send an email to a user but the form is embeded in the email, and the recipient can actually edit the fields in the form. Now this doesn't change the original form on the server, but I don't want them to easily make a change to thier copy.

    Any ideas?

  • HI,

First create the second view of your form as it is the main form, and make this second view to read only, then  take one dummy field of bool type, when you submit the form you can switch the view to read-only view and use this read only view in email.

  • Hi Krishana,

Thanks for the info. I did figure out how to change the view and send a read only version of the view, but my problem now is that the form is not sent in its original width. The recipient receives a view that stretches across the screen. In other works it is not in page layout anymore.

Do you have any suggestions for having it maintain its size and format?
