  • Hi pemmasani,

As Ealsur suggested, you can use the built-in WinJS.xhr object to access web resources (REST services or web pages or even file streams) over HTTP. Also, since you can build your own windows runtime library (through C++ or .NET csharp or VB.NET) and use the library in your windows store javascript app, you can also consider encapsulating the web access code logic in a custom windows runtime library. For example, if you create a windows runtime library via .NET c#, you can use either HttpWebRequest (.NET type) or HttpClient (windows runtime specific type) to access web resources.

#Walkthrough: Creating a simple component in C# or Visual Basic and calling it from JavaScript

You can find some samples about web accessing in windows store sample collection:

#Accessing WCF Services in HTML5 and WinJS

    #HttpClient sample

  • You could expose the content of the website via Webservices or RSS and consume those sources from within the App with WinJS.xhr. Then render that data using whatever control is best suited for the data type.
