  • General discussion

  • Hi! I was recently visiting the SmallBasic homepage. I went over to the blog and saw that there were no posts for over a year... When new programmers come to the SmallBasic homepage, it is important that they see that they are joining an active community, and not a long-lost dead language. I think we should bring the SmallBasic blog back!

    The Blog is Live @ http://sbprogramming.blogspot.com/.

  • I agree that the blog needs updating! After Vijaye Raji left (maybe even before you joined here), everything was a good bit more active. He has since gone to work at Facebook (I think) and all of the old resources out there have stopped being added to as he was the only one with access to them. Since none of us here work for MSFT, we cannot have Microsoft Devloper Network (MSDN) blogs, so I reccomend starting one somewhere else. Maybe Wordpress would be a good start. Also, you could get a URL and make an active SB website (looks like smallbasic.org is open--- just be careful with MSFT's copyrights).

  • Good idea! I would love to manage it if the community chooses to start it! What do you think, LitDev? I think we should start with a free domain, unless if we can revamp the current homepage.

  • I must agree. As I started programming, and saw the blog......

    I thought I must change to visual basic to get any help. But for luck worked my father with the first basic, and so he is able to help me to. :)

    Sorry for my English....

  • LitDev, do you have an input on this?

  • Sure another blog would be good, perhaps articles showing how things can be done step-by-step.

    I don't think we will have any access to the SmallBasic home page to advertise it.

  • OK... I plan to start a blog on Blogger. Can you make an announcement after I am done that displays a link to it? Thanks, and I will do my best!

  • You should really write there, which extensions are used to program it.

    I got the next tasks which aren't in my extensions. The Timer.Start(25) and MessageBox and PEAudio for example.

    @Zock77

    Please add an introduction for your extension inside the program. I don't know what I can do with it, because there is no inreoduction.

  • It has a sample code to it. and if that isn't enough then Please tell me and I will try to write some XML to it.

  • Yes, it isn't enough I think. I don't know, how to work with it. And I tried your example.

    A XML is the best I think.
