Your License is Invalid RRS feed

  • Good Afternoon,
    The company I work for has developed an add-in for the office store called BridgeBI. Our add-in pulls dashboards from PowerBI and displays it as an app part inside SharePoint. The add-in has been submitted and accepted to the Office Store. However, once the add-in has been purchased it will work for a period of time (typically a day or so) and then starts to display 'Your license is invalid’. This has happened on several 365 tenancies and I have spoken to various different support teams at Microsoft who have ultimately sent me to this forum for assistance as they have been unable to help. I have tested this on tenancies that have a set number of licenses, as well as one that had unlimited licenses for the product. Both behave in the same manner. Our developers have looked at this and believe the issue is related to the license check failing. In our logging we are seeing:

    FormatException Index (zero based) must be greater than or equal to zero and less than the size of the argument list.


    Error in GetLicenseTokenFromSP on https://xxx?****=en-US&SPClientTag=4&SPProductNumber=xxx&wpId=xxx&editmode=0&SenderId=xxx       ServerUnauthorizedAccessException     Access denied. You do not have permission to perform this action or access this resource.                    

    The user trying to perform this action is a site collection admin
