[UWP]Overriding global font in UWP app RRS feed

  • Question

  • I'm trying to provide my users with a way of selecting their own font throughout the app. I am currently trying this method to override -

        <Style TargetType="TextBlock">
            <Setter Property="FontFamily" Value="CHOSEN FONT" />

    This works fine except it breaks FontIcon renderings throughout the app. I have tried to rectify this by explicitly choosing the font family on each FontIcon but that did not work.

    What other ways can I achieve this?

  • Hi BradStevenson,

    Do you have a working minimum sample? What are you using FontIcon? I am guessing you don't want Icons to actually change with font change then you can try the  Segoe MDL2 icons.

    Please see: Guidelines for Segoe MDL2 icons

    Anyway I simple reproduction sample which be helpful in reproduction the issue on my side.
