Getting the new submission process to function properly in Win Dev Center? RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have never had any issues updating an app/game in Windows Dev Center

    - by clicking an "Update" near the current live submission, which then increments itself (Submission 6 turns to submission 7)
    - making whatever changes needed, and submitting to the store

This workflow is now broken. Clicking "Update" on a submission that is live will create a READ-ONLY duplicate submission, without incrementing it, and with other errors.
The duplicate then needs to be deleted.

Support answered that this is normal, and that from now on, for every update, even if it is just for changing the price, I need to:

    - start a NEW submission

    - create a NEW sandbox for that submission

    - then have that submission go through CERT

    - then go live with that release

Submitting that release to the store now creates a new unspecified error.
Not only does it not work, but it seems completely overkill a workflow for very minor changes.

Has anyone found a working solution?

I now have 3 submissions and sandboxes where before I only needed one that I could update and increment (RETAIL).
Plus a "we're sorry error message".

  • Hello,

Does this issue exist every time you delete the read-only submission and click "update" button? For my side, the "update" button works normally.

You'd better create a support ticket through your developer account so that Dev Center support could review your specific case.

Please select Application as your Issue Type and click "Submit an incident".

    Thank you.

  • Hello,

    Thanks for your reply.

Yes, this issue exists every time I try to update the existing submission.

I posted to this forum after having created a support ticket and getting an answer that was not working.

Basically I was told that it is wrong to update submissions, that I need to create a new sandbox and new submission every time, and that then "all will be smooth".

Well it is far from smooth, in fact it is a big mess.
Now there are 4 submissions for that APP (2 of them having appeared over night (MS support team?)), one of them being ready to submit to store, but now when submitting to store, the error

What is that about? I am a certified Xbox One and Windows partner, and have never asked for reseller pricing.
