Placing entity framework classes into namespaces RRS feed

  • Question

  • We have a dll that we're using for our entity framework.  We're using the model first approach to generate the classes.  Everything works fine, but all the EF classes are in the root namespace of the dll.  We'd like to be able to separate them into different namespaces to make the intellisense browsing easier.  Is there a way to do this?

  • This is controlled by the "Custom Tool Namespace" property of your .edmx file if you use the Legacy Code Generation strategy, and by the "Custom Tool Namespace" of your .tt template files if you use the (newer) T4 Code Generation.
