Is there a way to capture the current user accessing an SSRS report that is hosted on Sharepoint and pass that parameter to SQL server RRS feed

  • Question

  • Is there a way to capture the current SharePoint user accessing an SSRS report that is hosted on SharePoint2013 and pass that parameter to SQL server to verify that the person accessing the report is in the proper security role to see the data.

I was thinking that I could tell the developer to use the Current user filter and use it as the parameter for the report and then in his SQL write the code to verify that the user is in the proper security role on the server and Database.

    Is this possible?

Is there samples out there of this method?
