IAP Inactive After Upgrading to Windows 10 RRS feed

  • Question

  • After users upgrade from Windows 8.1 to Windows 10, IAP are inactive for 24-48 hours and then suddenly they become active again.  We've experienced this ourselves on our test devices and the following returns false:

    _licenseInfo.ProductLicenses["<iap name>"].IsActive

This has been going on since the release of Windows 10 and hasn't been fixed yet.  Is this a known issue?  Is there anything users can do to speed up Windows telling the app it is active?

  • We have a very successful app that was targeting Windows 8.1. We made absolutely no changes to our IAPs. We completely rewrote the app as a Windows 10 Universal app. While most of our users do not appear to have the problem, we are getting reports from a significant number of users that their previous IAPs are not being recognized. Some are able to resolve the issue by a) re-installing or b) tapping the upgrade button and without any prompts from the platform, the licenses is activated.

Are any other devs noticing similar problems?  We will try to open a support ticket and follow up here if we get a response from Microsoft.
