Why Service Catalog is absent? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi All,

I've just installed CSF 3.0 Developer Edition Full. But I can't find ServiceCatalog component. Only UDDIPublishTool.exe are available.

I'm trying to call ServiceCatalog.ashx through
    http://localhost/ServiceCatalog30/ServiceCatalog.ashx and the result is:
    The resource cannot be found.

In the UDDI there is no such service too.
From CSF setup program it is possible to install only UDDIPublishTool sub-component of ServiceCatalog (ServiceCatalog is absent at all).

    Any ideas?

    Thank you.

  • Hi Vova,

Thanks for your note - we've seen this problem with other customers - it seems that there are two common problems:

    (1) Sometimes when UDDI is installed, the HTTPS (SSL) option is specified, and the CSF installer can not verify the UDDI urls, which are assumed to use HTTP, instead of HTTPS.

    (2) It could be the case that the UDDI 2.0 web services are specified in IIS to use the ASP.Net 2.0 runtime libraries, instead of the APS.Net 1.1 runtime libraries...

I recommend uninstalling and re-installing UDDI 2.0, and then attempting the CSF installation again. If that does not work, I suggest trying the installation on another server, being careful to specify the HTTP (non-SSL) option when installing UDDI 2.0...

    Many Thanks Again, Vova!!!

  • Hi,

Have you installed the Platform SDK also. Though its mentioned as optional while installation but its required for installation of the Service Catalog component.

Please install the SDK available at http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=484269E2-3B89-47E3-8EB7-1F2BE6D7123A&displaylang=en

The latest release of SDK for R2 does not work.

Refer thread http://forums.microsoft.com/MSDN/ShowPost.aspx?PostID=694816&SiteID=1 for more details.
