Google Earth COM API on VC++ 2008 RRS feed

  • Question

  • I am new to Windows Programming and new to C++

Well actually i have had enough expierence with Java.
now i am trying to use GOOGLE EARTH COM API and VC++ for my new application.
but what i found online was just examples with C#, or with VC6.0 and MFC.

now i wanna know how to import COM API in a VC++ 2008 project and how to reference them.
and how to start this GOOGLE EARTH COM API in a WINDOWS FORM STRUCTURE
really frustrated with COM importation and windows forms and .h and .cpp structure.
seems different to examples with VC6.0 and DIALOGs for GOOGLE EARTH COM API.

just need some tips so i can switch to windows app programmers, not only java server programming.

  • Well, you're not the only one.  That's why so many programmers use C# or VB.NET to implement Windows Forms apps.  Either way, you get started by choosing Project + Add Reference, COM tab and selecting the COM server.  That generates a COM interop assembly, containing friendly .NET wrapper classes around the COM server coclasses and interfaces.  Use them like any other class in the .NET framework.
