Create and register Bluetooth Service RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I would like to publish a custom Bluetooth service on a Windows Mobile device. I know that there is the MS tool bthnscreate.exe which generates the binary service data. But I don't have access to this tool. There are several samples of the binary service data but I didn't find any example which includes a service name.

I could use the inTheHand library in order to create a service record but I don't want to rely on external code. Maybe I have a wrong understanding of service registration and there are other ways too.

My question is if there are some resources which explain in detail the binary service data and how to create them. Also I found today the ISdpRecord interface which seems to simplify service creation. But I couldn't find any examples on this.

I'm developing for Windows Mobile 5 and 6 using C#. But if there is a simple way in C++ I could build a native library as well.
