Could not access 'CDO.Message' object. RRS feed

  • Question

  • Background: System to send out mails (built in ASP.net 1.1)  using an external exchange server. Many mails being sent out from this system in HTML format .

Problem: While most mails are going out fine some throw an error with message –“ Could not access 'CDO.Message' object. Exception has been thrown by the target of an invocation.  Unknown Error

Please suggest what can be done to fix this error ........

What has already been looked at :

    1)    Permissions problem because there are cases where mails go out fine If it had been an access issue then there should have been 100% failure in mail delivery.

    2)    LOCAL SMTP issue as external server is being accessed.

    3)    SmtpMail.SmtpServer.Insert(0,””) method as external server needs to be referenced.

    4)    Not Unicode issue as to Email addresses and from address are valid.

Is it a possibilty that there is no memory available as there is continiuos referencing to CDO.dll and inbetween it has to be suspended to recover some free spaces?

I am not sure of this because I beleive the polling to the Dll is queued. Please help me out here...

Also can this be a transport level issue? If so how can we over come this...?

    Any help will be appreciated.
