  • Hi Kianian,

Thank you for your post in MSDN forum!

Firstly, .NET Framework 4 is supported on Windows Sever 2008.

If you have to perform a server installation, your computer must have the following software in addition to the basic requirements:

1, internet Information Services (IIS) version 6.0 or later. To access the features of ASP.NET, IIS with the latest security updates must be installed before the .NET Framework is installed. ASP.NET is supported only on Windows XP Professional, Windows Server 2003, Windows Server 2008, and Windows Server 2008 R2.

2, (Recommended) Microsoft Data Access Components 2.8 or later

More information about .net framework 4 is as bellows.

    http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=0a391abd-25c1-4fc0-919f-b21f31ab88b7&displaylang=en

Secondly, you could download .net framework 3.5 sp1 from the following link.

    http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?displaylang=en&FamilyID=ab99342f-5d1a-413d-8319-81da479ab0d7

    .NET Framework 3.5 sp1 is including 2.0, 3.0, 3.5.

Then, you could collect the installation information via Collect Tool.

    The following link is: http://go.microsoft.com/?LinkId=8967043

How to use this tool, you could click the link as follows?

    http://blogs.msdn.com/b/astebner/archive/2007/08/01/4172276.aspx

To clean your "%temp%" folder (Start Menu >> Run >> Type "%temp%")

The above step could ensure your installation log is only including the latest installation logs.

You could upload your error log files via Skydrive.

    The Skydrive link is:

    Hope this helps you!

    Best Regards

  • Hello Dharanesh.

Please start a new thread and explain your .NET Framework issue completely.

You have posted to a closed, 5 year old thread where few, if any, potential helpers will see your post.

If you start a new thread, your post will go to the top of the list in this forum as an unanswered question, and get a lot of attention.

When you start your new thread, please be sure to provide your Windows version, the .NET Framework version you are trying to install, and the problem (quoting the error message, if possible).

Also, provide install logs as follows:

Please collect your install logs with this:

    http://aka.ms/vscollect

After you run Collect.exe, you'll find vslogs.cab in your %temp% directory. Please upload vslogs.cab to a public site, like OneDrive, and post the link here.
