Win8 get month of year?

Question

I don't see anything that would give me something like "Thursday, August 22."

There isn't a Standard Date and Time Format Strings for Day, Month Date, but you can create a Custom Date and Time Format Strings .

There is an example that is pretty much what you ask for at The "dddd" Custom Format Specifier

Note that using custom formats risks causing confusion due to culture-inappropriate output.
