Can i use SELECT...AS OF TIMESTAMP query on a MS Access 2002 database file from C# using OleDb RRS feed

  • Products using - VS 2005 , MS Access 2002
    Project type -  C# WinForms app

    can i issue the command

    SELECT * FROM EMP AS OF TIMESTAMP TO_TIMESTAMP('26-JUN-09 16.55.40','DD-MON-YY HH24-MI-SS')

    using OleDbDataAdapter on a MS Access file
    and thus receive past records from emp table.

  • Access doesn't support the concept of a "flashback query", which essentially allows you to view the data as it was at a specific point in time.

  • Not clear what you want to do.

    MS Access does not have a TIMESTAMP field as far as I know.

    MS Access has date field, you can say:

    SELECT * FROM EMP WHERE DATEFIELD >= #1/1/2008# and DATEFIELD <= #1/1/2009#

  • I think it also supports BETWEEN clause like

    SELECT * FROM EMP WHERE DATEFIELD BETWEEN #1/1/2008# and #1/1/2009#
