Windows 10 connected standby (InstantGo) and push notifications broker ? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Windows 8.1 has a great support for receiving push notifications in connected standby (InstantGo) mode as dicsussed here. For example there is sound notification for incoming email received by the Mail app in connected standby.

It seems as these notifications are no longer supported in Windows 10. There is no way to enable sound notification of incoming email in Mail app while in connected standby mode. Because of the lack of relevant information I am asking here. Is it just matter of the new Windows 10 Mail app or such notifications are no longer supported (no Windows.Networking.PushNotifications broker) by the OS anymore ?

  • push notifications are still supported by the OS. any vagaries you see in the specific mail scenario are specifc to that stack, not a statement of an OS wide change.
