Using Edit in MS Project button RRS feed

  • Question

  • Good day.

    I have Project Server 2007 and Sharepoint 2007 installed.

    My projects are linked to list items on sharepoint (1 to 1 relation).

    I want to add a button to display form of sharepoint item which will open linked project in MS Project for editing (same behavior as Edit button in ProjectDrillDown page of PWA).

    Is it possible?

  • Hi Chernobrivets--

    Sounds possible, You can write code to launch the winproj application & open the file using the MS project application object.

  • I have tried using your solution but it seems not working as expected. Here is code

    var projApp = new ApplicationClass();
    projApp.FileOpenEx("<>\Project1");

    But when i run application MS Project says that he cannot open the project because he is not connected to server. In MS Project Account there is server account which is default and automatic connect is set to true.

  • Really strange behavior - when i try to open win proj using ApplicationClass then it is not connecting to project server (even if i have default account).
