# BASIC Compile halted: Syntax Error • ### Question

• This is my first time using Just Basic and i'm stuck..

Here is what I wrote:

Print "Carpet Calculator"
Print "Written by Student"
[step3]
Print "This program calculates the cost of carpeting a rectangular room."
Input "Enter the length of the room"; Length
Input "Enter the width of the room"; Width
Input "Enter the price per square yard for the carpet"; Price Per Square yard
Let square footage = (length * width)
Let square yardage = (square feet / 9)
Let the total cost of the carpet = (Price Per Square yard * square yards)
[Print]
Print "Square footage of the room"; = length*width
Print "Square yards of carpet needed"; = square feet / 9
Print "Total cost of carpet"; = Price per square yard * square yards

Here are the instructions:

Carpet Calculator Written by Student Name This program calculates the cost of carpeting a rectangular room. Enter the length of room = 10 Enter the width of room = 15 Enter the price per square yard for the carpet = 3.99 Square footage of room = 150 Square yards of carpet needed = 16.6666667 Total cost of carpet = 66.5

So am I,  this forum covers VBA (Visual basic for Applications) and deals almost entirely with programming Microsoft Office applications such as Excel or Word.
I doubt you will get much/any help here for Just Basic.

There is a website I found,  http://justbasic.wikispaces.com/Are+There+Any+Tutorials   you might want to look at?
