Visibility = System.Windows.Visibility.Visible after .Collapsed crashes the app ? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi all,

I've created some stuff and I'm playing around with it. I wanted to implement hiding/showing certain UI elements in response to user actions, for instance : after you login - hide the login_control and show the logout_button and vice versa. When logging in, all works fine, the login disappears and logout shows. When logging out - BOOM. The application crashes and the browser screen goes white.

I think it's the visibility settings but I might be wrong.

Is this a known issue ?

Are there any known workarounds to this ?

  • It's maybe a known issue. Check out this link: http://michaelsync.net/2008/04/01/silverlight-2-beta1-known-issues-and-workarounds-if-any

The work around is to set Width/Height to 0 instead.

(By the way, in my application, I will remove (or add) login/logout controls into a container control when one is needed, not just show or hide them.)
