Backing up Content database RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

We have MOSS 2007 SP1 databases on SQL Server 2005 SP3.

The content database size is 150 GB. We are backing up the Content database daily (Full backup) using native SQL server backup job (using T-sql) and it's taking 3 hours,(10 PM to 1 am) to complete.

On weekends, On share Point side, Crawling is scheduled to run at 12 am. So running backup while crawling is happening has any concern?

    Does Microsoft supports this?

    Thanks

  • Hi Samnalla,

I suggest you not to do these at the same time. Many examples shows that it will lead to a lot of uncertainty problems if two or more programs make a large number of database access and modification. You’d better get one of them complete first, then complete another one.

    Thanks & Regards,
