HowTo Catch CreateItem-event in Outlook RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

im very new to programming outlook in vba. Im just trying to catch the event, that occurs when a new contact window is opened.

Background: i have a telephone-software, which is able to open a new contact-window and puts the caller phonenumber in it, so i just need to fill in a name and save.

so my hope is to being able to catch that "new contact" event and get that phonenumer from that contact.

i found some posts about creating inspectors. they should enable  me to hook on events.. but HOW??

i hope somebody can help me?!

    greets, Chris

  • Have you tried the Inspectors.NewInspector event? The new inspecor will be passed as a parameter to the event handlerr, and once you have the Inspector object, you can access the item using Inspector.CurrentItem.
